Add/edit/remove a pigeon

This is the main part of the program. Without any pigeons, most features are disabled or just won't work. Adding pigeons can be done in three ways:

  • Clicking the "Add" button on the toolbar
  • Going to File - Add in the menubar
  • Pressing ctrl+a

Add or edit

When done, the program will grey-out most parts, except the pigeon details. Fill in all the details that you want for the pigeon, only the bandnumber, year and sex are mandatory. When done, press "Save" and the pigeon will be added to the database and the list on your left.

Tip Tip: Most fields are self learning. Meaning everything you enter in these fields will be saved for the next time you add a pigeon.

Editing works similar. Start editing a pigeon by choosing it from the list, then either:

  • Click the "Edit" button on the toolbar
  • Go to Pigeon - Edit in the menubar
  • Right-click and choose "Edit"
  • Press ctrl+e

You will see the program will greys-out again with only the details left. Edit all the fields you want and press "Save".

Removing a pigeon can be done by:

  • Clicking the "Remove" button on the toolbar
  • Going to Pigeon - Remove in the menubar
  • Right-clicking and choose "Remove"
  • Pressing ctrl+r

A warning dialog will popup with the question if you are really sure and an extra option. This is important, as it will determine if this pigeon will be kept in the pedigree or not. When the option is checked, the pigeon will stay in the pedigree. When unchecked, it will be removed, and so each following pigeons too. If the pigeon has results, an extra option will be available to keep or remove these.
